Curated by Eelco van der Lingen icw Rune Peitersen
False Focus is based on the idea that our senses and the way they are translated by the brain into an image of reality does not provide us with a reliable idea of reality.
For the artists of False Focus the senses and their translations are reason to provide us with alternative realities, manifested in videos, photos, paintings and installations.
Raymond van Ee, professor of neuropsychology at Utrecht University, talks about the influence of our brain on perception.
Eelco van der Lingen gives the tour, talks about the work and talks to the audience. In an informal atmosphere they discuss what there is to see and what False Focus is all about.
Saskia Monshouwer, Rune Peitersen and Bradley Pitts speak about their work and the exhibition.
