Nest is looking for two new members for the Supervisory Board, for 4 to 6 meetings per year.

Nest is looking for two new members to expand and replace the Board of Supervisors. Nest is an art space that provides a platform for artists, writers, and thinkers from both within and outside the country. The program is exploratory, experimental, and current, focusing on culture and education in a broad sense. The exhibition program highlights societal issues and emphasizes collaboration and encounters. Nest is a place where art, people, and ideas come together. We believe in the connective power of art for mutual understanding and empathy, and strive to be an accessible and welcoming space for visitors and creators.

For:

  • Attending and preparing 4 to 6 meetings per year – unpaid.
  • Presence at important events.
  • Advice and collaboration on specific aspects with the Nest team.

Nest is currently structurally funded by the municipality of The Hague and the Mondriaan Fund. Nest operates according to the principles of the Governance Code for Culture, the Fair Practice Code, and the Diversity & Inclusion Code.

Due to the professional development that Nest has undergone in recent years, as of January 2024, we have transitioned from the governance model to the board-of-supervisors model.

Nest is looking for two members for the Board of Supervisors with:

  • Affinity with the vision and mission of Nest.
  • Insight and experience within the international contemporary art sector.
  • Independent judgment, capable of placing the institution in a broader perspective and asking critical questions.
  • An active and leading role in public life.
  • A relevant network for Nest and the willingness to contribute to it.
  • An open personality capable of establishing connections with other members of the Board of Supervisors and the management of Nest.

And those who are active in one of the following areas of expertise:

  • (Inter)national contemporary art (as a board member, director, or creator with managerial experience).
  • Legal background (combined with a passion for art or the cultural field)

In the selection of candidates, we look at:

  • Motivation.
  • Managerial experience.
  • Knowledge and experience in the arts field.
  • Positioning in the cultural field (if relevant).
  • Complementarity in expertise, experience, background, and network compared to the Board of Trustees team.

The current members of the Board of Trustees are:

  • Susan Gloudemans, chairperson (Director of Strategy & Development at the Rijksakademie van beeldende kunsten).
  • Barend Santen, (lawyer at Loyal Lawyers).
  • Renée Jongejan, (business director Kunsthal Rotterdam).
