Nest invites you to And Other Stories – a new informal series of evenings in which artists from our exhibitions share their inspiration, their research or what they're up to in their practice. A perfect way to get to know the artists exhibiting at Nest. The programme of the night will be developed in collaboration with the artists and can consist of an artist talk, a movie screening, a walk or another format.

For the second edition we invited Fiona Lutjenhuis. At first glance her colourful, atmospheric, and richly imaginative drawings, paintings, and installations appear to depict gentle, dreamlike worlds. Yet on closer inspection, a more ambiguous–and at times unsettling and claustrophobic–undertone begins to emerge. Lutjenhuis’s practice is rooted in the religious ideologies with which she was raised. Within this belief system, the origins of humanity were linked to the mythology of Atlantis, the Apocalypse was believed to be imminent, and salvation was thought to lie in extraterrestrial life. During And Other Stories you can learn more about Lutjenhuis' inspiration, process and research.

Attending And Other Stories is free, but we do ask you to RSVP through the link at the top of the page. Limited places are available. A bowl of soup and coffee and tea are included.
