On the first of February we celebrate the booklaunch of sophie serber’s publication: Success Breeds Success Or You Need To Be A Friend To Get A Friend.

Amsterdam-based artist sophie serbers work examines the interplay between control, identity, and dissociation and how they can be reconciled within an individual existing in this world.

The program begins at 13:00 with a guided tour of the exhibition led by artist and guest-curator Philipp Gufler, followed by the book launch at 14:00 featuring readings by Dr. Rosemary Overell and Becket MWN. Overell will read a text that she wrote. Her research focuses on gendered subjectivities in mediated culture, with a focus on Lacanian psychoanalysis. Becket MWN will read from Success Breeds Success Or You Need To Be A Friend To Get A Friend.

The afternoon concludes with a short presentation of the book’s graphic design by Amsterdam-based graphic designer Elisabeth Rafsted, followed by drinks from 14:45 to 15:30.
