Nest is looking for an enthusiastic and proactive producer

The Hague Art Space Nest is looking for an enthusiastic and proactive producer. Our preference goes out to someone that knows what happens around the city and has an affinity with Nest’s mission. We are looking for someone that is able to translate our program- and exhibition ideas into reality, works systematically and is a real spider in the web. In addition, Nest works together with various partners and we also make exhibition at other locations than our own exhibition space. For this it is important that you are flexible and hands-on.

Your responsibilities
• Translating substantive plans into feasible actions, schedules and scripts and provide the necessary facilities, materials and people.
• Mobilizing, recruiting and managing attendants, technical team, freelancers, facility staff and interns (in collaboration with business manager).
• Maintaining various contacts regarding the implementation of productions and exhibitions. This includes artists, guest curators, experts, lenders, transporters, galleries and various other collaboration partners.
• Managing project budgets and ensuring proper completion.

 The ideal candidate
• Has experience as a producer, is able to keep a good overview of projects, is pragmetic and flexible.
• Has a relevant art network and an affinity with the cultural field (of The Hague).
• Sufficiently speaks and writes both Dutch and English. The main language used at Nest is Dutch, so this is a must.
• Can work to work together in an ambitious and diverse team, and is communicatively and socially skilled.
• Is able to work with budgets.
• Has a driver’s license

Terms of employment
Based on your experience and background we offer a salary in accordance with the Guideline Function and Salary Structure for Presentation Institutions of the Visual Art (Richtlijn functie- en loongebouw presentatie-Instellingen voor beeldende kunst). We strive to offer a permanent contract when functioning well. In addition, there is room to develop yourself through training or study.

We are an open organisation with a small and close team and work according to the principles of the Cultural Governance Code, the Fair Practice Code and the Diversity & Inclusion Code. 

About Nest
Nest is an art space in The Hague and presents a broad, interdisciplinary program with art, collaboration and meeting at its core. In this way, Nest gives a stage to makers, talkers, writers and thinkers from the Netherlands and abroad. We offer makers the opportunity to develop new work and welcome artistic experiment.
